We are excited to share the remarkable achievements of our secondary English students. At the end of last school year, they participated in the “Peace You Have my Word” writing competition organized by the International School of Dakar. The competition featured four distinct categories, inviting students to explore themes of peace and its various dimensions.
We’re proud to announce that our school secured four impressive wins:
- Fitia (Grade 11) received the silver medal in the African peace-makers category.
- Zoé (Grade 11) received the silver medal in the peace in African cultures category.
- Camille (Grade 10) received special mention for creativity in the African peace-makers category.
- Pauline (Grade 9) received special mention for advocacy in the peace and anti-racism category.
These talented students will have their work published online and will participate in an online youth summit on September 21, the International Day for Peace. As an additional honor, they will receive a micro-library composed of essential books on the subject of peace. We applaud their dedication and meaningful contributions to such an important conversation.
