Board of Trustees
As an independent, not-for-profit school, ASA is owned by parents who are represented by the Board of Trustees. The Board consists of six elected members and one member appointed by the US. Ambassador. Elections are held by the ASA Association. Membership in the Association is automatically conferred on parents of children enrolled in ASA and on the ASA faculty.
The Board sets the overall policy for the school, and works closely with the Director on budget, personnel, curriculum and contractual issues. Board meetings are held five times per year, plus there are two general Association membership meetings each school year. Meetings are open to the parent/teacher community.

Scott Kimpton (Chair)
Scott currently serves as the Regional Security Officer for the U.S. Embassy Antananarivo, and has two boys attending ASA. Prior to his career in the Foreign Service, he served as a county deputy constable and a city police officer, amounting to a total of more than 20 years of security and law enforcement experience. He is looking forward to using this experience to help provide a safe and secure environment for the ASA students, faculty, and staff.
Agathe Sector
Agathe works at USAID Madagascar as the Director of the Office of Sustainable Environment and Economic Development. Prior to working in development, she worked in finance in New York, as a trader/analyst at a hedge fund. She has a Master’s Degree in Economic Development and Environmental Policy from Columbia University. She loves photography, scuba diving, singing, and playing the flute. Her daughter is in elementary school at ASA.
Aurora Chindris
Currently Group Finance Manager of SMTP Group Madagascar, Aurora has more than 20 years of experience in tax, accounting and financial management of banks, large production and service companies, and multinational companies. She has certifications as Tax and Accounting specialist and a postgraduate degree of Executive Master in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University (Atlanta, US). She is a Romanian citizen, a mother of two, both studying at ASA.
Cara Raboanarielina
Cara is a married mother of two daughters, both attending ASA. She has a long history and strong connection with Madagascar as she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Lac Alaotra region 22 years ago. Cara currently works for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as Strategic Learning Advisor. She is eager to engage with the ASA community and is looking forward to applying her skills for a consistent learning experience for all students.
Haingo Rajaonarison
Haingo has been an English teacher since 1993 and a translator/interpreter since 1995. He speaks 17 languages including English, French and Malagasy Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Zulu, Sotho, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Afrikaans, Russian, Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, and German. Haingo has a daughter in High School.
Isabelle Salabert
Proud mother of 3 children (two are ASA Alumni and one currently attending ASA), Isabelle has lived in Madagascar for more than 16 years. She has a PhD in Molecular Physics and has been working as a consultant in Knowledge Management for 10 years. As the Executive Director of Axian Foundation, she is actively working and building partnerships with UN agencies, the private sector, foundations, local associations and NGOs.
Toby Glucksman
Toby is the US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission and is the US Ambassador’s appointed representative to the ASA board. Toby has two daughters in Elementary school.
