Highlights from the IB PYP and DP Evaluation 2022

November 16, 2022

The last week of October, ASA completed the IB DP and PYP Evaluation cycle which culminated in a 3-day virtual visit from four members of the International Baccalaureate® (IB). The evaluators observed lessons, met with teachers, students, parents, and board members to gain insight into the educational programme that ASA provides. A detailed report was presented to ASA parents during the Annual General Meeting on November 5. The complete results will be available in a few weeks, however, the general response from the IB has been incredibly positive. Some highlights include:

  • ASA’s commitment to the IB philosophy.
  • School leadership and governance show commitment to high quality learning environments.
  • Educational approaches support students to become active, compassionate, lifelong learners.
  • ASA has facilities that are safe, functional, well-maintained, and purposefully designed to support students learning. They are designed in innovative ways to support students’ interests, as well as inquiry, and collaboration.
  • ASA curriculum supports academic, social, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Student choice and voice are evident.
  • Students reported that they have an open and critical dialogue with staff.
  • ASA is a place for everyone!

An International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we have offered the IB Primary Years Programme since 2013, the IB Diploma Programme since 2018, and are planning to offer the IB Middle Years Programme from 2024.
