ASA Celebrates its 23rd Annual High School Graduation Ceremony

On June 2, ASA proudly hosted its 23rd annual high school graduation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the lives of the Class of 2023. With 23 students hailing from 12 countries, this year’s cohort represents the largest and most diverse graduating class in ASA’s history.

The Class of 2023 has become synonymous with academic excellence, compassion, and unwavering dedication throughout their time at ASA. These creative and dynamic students have exemplified the core values of the school and are now poised to embark on their next chapter in esteemed universities across the globe. Students from this graduating class have been accepted into renowned institutions such as Durham University, Imperial College London, London School of Economics and Political Science, Columbia University, University of California Los Angeles, University of Toronto, and Paris Dauphine University, among others. The fields of study chosen by these exceptional students predominantly revolve around business management or the sciences.

In her welcome address, Ms. Kristen VanOllefen, ASA School principal, highlighted the transformative education and experiences these students have acquired, equipping them to become catalysts for change, advocates for justice, and champions of equality. “As you step into the world beyond ASA, may you continue to strive for excellence, embrace compassion, and always remember the power you hold to make a difference,” she stated with pride.

In attendance as a distinguished guest, Her Excellency Ms. Claire Pierangelo, US Ambassador, shared words of wisdom and encouragement with the graduating class. She emphasized that grades and popularity would pale in significance as time progresses. “What matters most is your integrity,” Ms. Pierangelo urged, leaving a lasting impression on the young graduates.

Concluding the series of speeches was Ms. Jennifer Gagner, English teacher at ASA. With a heartfelt tone, she imparted a poignant message to the graduating students. “Don’t stop reading books,” she advised, underscoring the importance of continued intellectual growth. Ms. Gagner also encouraged the graduates to relish every chapter of their lives, embracing the unfolding story ahead with patience, enjoying each step without undue haste or pressure.
