Grade 8 Students to Represent ASA in a Scholarship Competition

November 22, 2023

We are thrilled to announce that the “Positive Period” group from the 8th Grade Design class has been selected to represent ASA in the AISA Outstanding Service Scholarship competition.

Dedicated to addressing the critical issue of period poverty in Madagascar, this talented group has developed a reusable period product that not only addresses the environmental impact by reducing waste but also utilizes locally-sourced materials. Furthermore, their initiative empowers girls and women in our community by providing them with the means to create their own sanitary pads, thereby reducing dependence on disposable, store-bought alternatives.

For a closer look at their project, we invite you to explore their website. Additionally, don’t miss the chance to meet the members of the “Positive Period” group in person at the ASA Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 2. It’s a fantastic opportunity to engage with their work firsthand and support their efforts.

We commend our Grade 8 students for their dedication to making a positive impact, and we are proud to have them represent ASA in this competition. Join us in wishing them the best of luck!
