Last week, students in the Sustainability and Environment Service Learning Group organized an Environment Awareness Day. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness through enjoyable artistic activities and involved students from grades 4 through 7.
The highlight of the event was nature art, where students gathered leaves, sticks, rocks, and pinecones to create beautiful artworks. This activity not only fostered creativity but also instilled a sense of appreciation for nature’s beauty and importance. Students also learned about upcycling by making paper maché bowls and repurposing bottles to create beautiful little pots. These activities demonstrated how we can creatively reuse materials and reduce waste, which is an essential aspect of environmental sustainability.
After all the hard work, students got to relax and enjoy a well-known movie, “The Lorax,” which focuses on the conflict between environmental protection and economic expansion. The film left a lasting impression and highlighted the importance of preserving our environment for future generations.
The event was a great success, and we are proud to see ASA students take an active role in environmental protection. By fostering a culture of sustainability in our school, we can make a positive impact on our community and the world.
