Teaching and learning at the ASA is supported by a technology-rich environment. Educational technology use at ASA is aligned with our school mission, and digital citizenship is embedded within our curriculum. Students use Information and Communication Technology in most of their classes, but additionally engage in design thinking in our Design and Technology classes, while building skills in areas such as robotics, 3D design and printing, electronics, animation, photography and film, programming and the creation of virtual reality content. In our Elementary and Secondary School makerspaces, students can explore, design and create digital and physical products.

We have a 1:1 “bring your own device” (BYOD) programme in High School, and Middle School students have extensive access to Chromebooks and Macbooks. We are currently evaluating the possibility of extending our BYOD programme into Middle School. In Elementary School, our grade 5 students have 1:1 Chromebooks, and we have 1:1 use of iPads in grades 1-4.
