Secondary School Scholarship

The American School of Antananarivo (ASA) is pleased to announce the launch of its “Secondary School Scholarship” for the 2020-2021 school year. Launched in 2017, this program provides tuition remission awards (up to 90%) to qualified students wishing to pursue their education at the ASA, who would not otherwise be able to afford the full fees.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in Grade 7, 8 or 9 / Classe de 5ème, 4ème ou 3ème
  • Be aged between 12 and 14 years old as of September 1, 2020
  • Be a citizen or resident of Madagascar
  • Be fluent in the English language
  • Have excellent academic grades and references
  • Demonstrate commitment to ASA mission and values

Application process

The application process involves an online application, written and skills tests, and an interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the tests and for the interview.

Before completing the online application form, applicants should first prepare the following:

  • A scanned copy of their transcripts from the school year 2018-2019 and the first trimester of the school year 2019-2020
  • Two (2) teacher references attesting attendance, character, organization and performance

Once all the required documents are complete, please submit your application. NB: Final candidates will be required to provide financial documents.

When reviewing applications, the selection committee will consider the overall character, academic achievements and English language skills of each candidate.

Attribution of tuition awards

Decision on suitability and eligibility of the award is entirely at the discretion of the school.

The school reserves the right to withdraw the Scholarship should the student fail to meet the initially agreed criteria at any time during their enrollment.

Students who are eligible for company pay will not be considered for the scholarship.

  • Friday 6 March 2020: Online application deadline
  • Saturday 14 March : Tests
  • Wednesday 18 March : Interviews
  • Friday 20 March: Notification of scholarship winners
